Ingredients: For each pint, you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup Dried Beans (we opted for pinto and black beans)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beans: Start by measuring out 1/2 cup of dried beans in each pint. We chose pinto and black beans.
  2. Seasoning: In each pint, add together 1/2 tsp of salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and 1/4 tsp of cumin. This flavorful blend will infuse your beans with a taste that’s nothing short of spectacular.
  3. Add Water: Fill each pint with boiling water allowing 1 in headspace in each jar.
  4. Canning Process: Leave 1 inch of headspace in each jar. Using a pressure canner, process the jars for 75 minutes. This guarantees that your beans are not only infused with incredible taste but are also safely preserved for future use.
  5. Presto Digital Canner: For an added level of convenience, we used the @prestoappliances digital canner. You can find it conveniently linked on Amazon, making the entire process even more accessible.

In just a few simple steps, you’ve created a stash of delicious canned beans that will save you both time and money. Whether you’re a busy professional or a home cook looking to streamline your meal prep, this recipe is a game-changer. Give it a try and watch as the convenience and flavor of homemade canned beans elevate your culinary adventures!
